The Schlieffen Plan referred to Germany’s plans to invade Belgium and France in order to collect soldiers and in turn improve their chances of winning a war against Russia. Germany also saw this time as an opportunity to finally break out what they called the Schlieffen Plan. However, at the same time, Germany declared war on Russia.
